Letterpress printing is a relief printing process in which inked type, engravings or cuts are pressed against (or kiss) a substrate (paper, chipboard, etc...), leaving an impression much like a stamp. The inherent charm of this method lies in the imperfections and hand-printed nature of the process, which makes each print slightly different, a far cry from the automated approach of modern-day printing, which aims for no variances from one print to the next.
